The back does not stay white. On a single-sided flag the ink passes through the fabric, so your design is clearly visible on the reverse too — just mirrored. Is there text on it that has to read correctly from both sides? Then choose the double-sided flag.

Which size suits me?

Apart from 150 × 90 cm, all sizes share the same 3:2 proportion, so your design stays exactly the same if you pick a size up or down. The small sizes (60 × 40 up to 120 × 80 cm) fit an ordinary facade pole and are meant for a house, shopfront or balcony. 150 × 90 cm is the international 3 × 5 ft size, widely used in Germany and the United States. From 150 × 100 cm you are at the standard facade flag, the most popular flag size for a building façade. The large sizes (225 × 150 cm and up) are for business premises, sports halls and anything that has to stand out from the street; 225 × 150 cm is the common size for a 6-metre flagpole.

Flame-retardant fabric (B1)

Under Fabric, choose Flame-retardant B1 if the flag will hang in or on a public building, school, care facility, restaurant or exhibition hall, or be used at an event. B1 certification is often mandatory there. The fabric looks and prints exactly the same, but is self-extinguishing.

What resolution do I need?

Vector files (PDF, EPS, SVG, AI) are always sharp, whatever the size. If you work with a photo or a logo as an image, aim for around 40 ppi at actual size — about 16 pixels per centimetre of width. For a flag 150 cm wide that comes to roughly 2,400 px, for 450 cm roughly 7,100 px. More than enough for a flag, which you look at from several metres away.

You don't have to work this out yourself: the configurator shows live how sharp your file will be at the chosen size, and warns you as soon as the resolution is too low.
