Facade Flags for Events: How to Create a Professional Look

Gevelvlaggen bij een evenement — professionele uitstraling met feather flags

Visibility starts at the entrance

Whether you're organising a sports competition, setting up a trade show or hosting a corporate event: the first impression starts outside. Facade flags make an event venue instantly recognisable, professional and on-brand. You mount them at the entrance, on the facade, or on the fencing and barriers of your venue — and they're visible from a great distance.

In this article we explain how to use facade flags smartly at events, how many you need and what to know when ordering.

Why facade flags at events?

Facade flags have several properties that make them ideal for temporary venues:

  • Visible from afar: even in overcast weather or a busy environment, a fluttering facade flag immediately draws attention.
  • Easy to mount: you attach the flag with loop & cord or hooks to the pole, which you hang on the facade, entrance or fencing of the venue. Mounting takes just a few minutes per unit.
  • Light and compact: the flag and pole are light and easy to transport. Ideal for events where you set up multiple locations.
  • Reusable: a quality facade flag withstands the elements and lasts multiple event seasons with careful use.

Applications by event type

Sports events

Use facade flags to mark the entrance, make sponsors visible or indicate the route to the changing rooms. A row of 4 to 6 flags on the fencing along the course or in front of the sports facility immediately gives a professional look.

Trade shows and exhibitions

Mark your stand location from outside the hall with flags at the entrance. Inside, use a facade flag as an attention-getter at your stand.

Music and cultural festivals

Guide visitors with directional flags or use them per stage zone. Colour coding per zone works excellently — sublimation-printed colours are vivid and visible even in backlight.

Corporate events and conferences

Corporate events require a crisp, recognisable look. A set of 2 to 4 flags with a company logo at the entrance or by the reception immediately sets the right tone. Combine with a banner or roll-up for maximum brand impact.

Markets and pop-up stores

Facade flags also work perfectly as attention-getters at temporary sales points. They're visible from afar — even at busy markets — and invite customers to take a closer look.

How many flags do you need?

A rule of thumb:

  • Small events (up to 250 visitors): 2–4 flags are sufficient for the entrance and core area
  • Medium events (250–1,000 visitors): 4–8 flags for multiple entrances and routing
  • Large events (1,000+ visitors): 8+ flags, depending on the number of zones

Practical tips for event use

  1. Choose the right size. For outdoors we recommend the standard 150 × 100 cm; a larger size is available on request. Read our complete size guide.
  2. Order well in advance. Our production time is 3–4 working days after file approval. For large events we recommend ordering at least 2 weeks in advance to allow room for any adjustments.
  3. Check your file beforehand. Our team checks every file submitted and contacts you if anything needs adjusting — before production, not after.
  4. Prepare the right file. Submit your design as a vector file (PDF, AI, EPS) or high-resolution PNG/JPG. Read our file guide for all the details.
